Geistsalz
Inspired by the centuries-old idea that pure salt can be used as a tool to keep evil spirits at bay, Geistsalz offers spiritualists guidance and protection. With visuals that pay homage to the aesthetics of different mediums of pre-tech communication, including 20th Century European QSL cards, Geistsalz’s brand identity highlights notions of contact with “the other side”. In the primary logo, the rectangle is meant signify the barrier of safety that a solid line of salt can offer, as well as call back to the visuals of 1930s-50s German Eingangsstempel. After acheiving success with their initial Spirit Salt product, Geistsalz branched out to broaden their community with the creation of The Geistsalz Extra, a newspaper with occult news and recommendations for clairvoyants, and the Geistsalz app.
